Life

Half term. Ηη went to a club that he seemed mostly happy with. Αα didn’t give us too too much of a hard time (bum worms notwithstanding).

Darek and Wojcek failed to deal with the standing water in the bath and a drainage expert was engaged. The drainage guy’s first words were, “This looks like it’s just been bodged together”, thus confirming our suspicions that Darek isn’t a particularly good plumber. I’m hoping we can get an actual plumber to fix what needs fixing but I’m not relishing the conversations I’m going to have to have with the contractor.

Darek did at least put some pictures and coat hooks up on the walls though – he’s a wizard with a drill in his hands. Flat is looking excellent as long as you don’t try to use the bath.

The kids had a fun night of trick-or-treat tourism in the well-healed district of Canonbury with Rawi and Tam. I successfully avoided it by going to my brother’s flat to wait for a Thames Water engineer to update his meter. It was alarmingly re-traumatising being back there. I felt especially bad for Saka the cat who we made to stay there at what was presumably already quite a stressful period of his life, having just been separated from his owner of five years.

Running

One run. Felt rough. Accepted that I’m unwell and didn’t try anything else.
