Life

Godot Darek didn’t come the next day. Or either of the days in the week he said he would. But on Sunday he finally made it. He claims to have fixed the leak, but we now have two new plumbing-related issues that he’s suggesting are coincidental. Seems unlikely! I think what’s going to happen is we’ll come to the end of the three month warranty period for the work and then get a proper plumber in. Perhaps we should just be doing that now, but Darek’s so charming it’s hard to resist getting him round.

Jim and Ange came to visit for the weekend and it was nice for it not to be overshadowed by the question of Aila’s health (she’s doing pretty well). They were suitably effusive about the flat renovations, and the kids were delighted to get so much time with them. There was minimal bickering from all parties which was unexpected. Hopefully there can be more frequent visits from now on.

Ηη opted to do the (non-junior) parkrun in Finsbo instead of climbing on Saturday. He got round in 35 minutes with Jim and Ange watching – everyone impressed and proud.

Σσ has started on a job application. If she doesn’t get the gig, something has gone badly wrong.

Running

Foot seizing up quite a lot again but I haven’t quite braved the NHS phone system to enquire about my long-overdue follow-up appointment.
