Life

Σσ was trained and ready to do a swim off the Arran coast but it was cancelled due to high winds. A small part of me was highly relieved that she wasn’t going to leave me alone with the kids for a long weekend, but I mostly felt gutted on her behalf – she’d been looking forward to it for a long time.

I got the office lurgy which didn’t quite get bad enough to warrant any weekdays off but left me feeling pretty grotty over the weekend (another silver lining of Σσ not going away).

Our sofa was delivered on Saturday and we spent a happy afternoon putting it together. I’m even happier with the results than I was with the price point. I almost can’t believe how nice our flat seems now. It’s basically been three and a half years since we had a proper sofa so it’s long overdue.

Darek and his crew fixed the majority of the snags we’d raised toward the end of the week. The radiator is still slightly leaking so we’re not quite there yet, but he’s put in an access panel for the bath so I’m no longer scared that something’s going to go wrong and we’ll have no way of dealing with it which was probably my primary concern.

Running

Less than I’d have liked owing to lurgy, but I didn’t mind not being able to run that much which was a not altogether unpleasant sensation I don’t remember having had recently.
