Life

Me Σσ and Αα went to watch Ηη’s sports day where he retained his title as undisputed king of the sack race. The highlight of the day though was when he didn’t bother holding the egg or spoon for the egg and spoon race and just sprinted as fast as he could. The morning ended without any real drama which was a sign of how much all the year 1s have grown up. And Ηη seemed happy with how everything went, so why would I bother pointing out to him that you don’t necessarily ‘win’ the egg and spoon race if you elect not to carry the egg or spoon?

Lina and Emlyn had a very pleasant party where Ηη spent a bit too long in the sun and got his first taste of minor sunstroke.

Eli came over from Belgium and we hung out with Ηη’s old nursery pals in Clissold. Ηη and Tae had a bit of a set to where we couldn’t quite get to the bottom of it, but I was inclined to take Ηη’s word over Tae’s (who I have previously witnessed spitting in other people’s faces). I think that relationship might suffer irreparably, but Tae’s parents offered us their place in Stoke Newington while they’re away for the summer so we’ll just sweep whatever it was under the carpet.

The kitchen started getting fitted and we finally made a decision of what colours to paint the walls. I think it looks great, but (crucially) Σσ is delighted (at least I think she is, but maybe she wouldn’t tell me if she wasn’t). The agonising over the decision has paid off.

Running

Resolved to bin it off till my foot is better.
