Life
We got back from Scotland remarkably easily (having been emotionally primed for Bank Holiday Travel Chaos™). Then we spent the week in Stokey at the Popes house while they were on holiday. It was kind of like a mini holiday for us too, especially with the weather being glorious. Greek salad picnics in the park every evening. And Ηη and Αα had their first taste of bunk bed life.
On Saturday I saw an excellent podiatrist who told me that it was fine for me to run (i.e. that I was being a bit of a wimp). I’m ok with the pain as long as I know it’s not inflicting damage. Then we took the iPad to Clissold in the evening to watch Arsenal lose to PSG on penalties. It was a bit of a gut punch tbh. But it would have been too much for Ηη to see his team win the double within months of him showing any interest in football – he’d spend the rest of his life permanently disappointed. Then to cap it off a dog stole the pizza out of his hands and trampled on his balls in the process. I was impressed with how circumspect most of the Arsenal fans appeared to be about it.
Then on Sunday we went back to Clissold with Si and Lou for a picnic and the Arsenal premiership champions parade. Both were excellent. We were not among the c. 70 revellers that apparently had to be rescued ‘from height’ by the fire service.
Running
I took a spin out in Epping Forest on Sunday which felt like a good use of our time up in the Far North. I’m still not really loving running, but I think I’d dislike not running even more.
- Tuesday: Evening Run – 7.11mi at 8:19/mi
